REBUTTALS TO JUDEO-CHRISTIAN CLAIMS ABOUT PROPHET ABRAHAM AND PROPHET ISHMAEL [Allah’s Peace Be upon them both]

People of The Book [1], aforetime have claimed:

Isaac (pbuh) was the First Born and only Son of Prophet Abraham (pbuh) and was offered for sacrifice in obedience To LORD'S Command:
“Some time later, God tested Abraham's faith. "Abraham!" God called. "Yes," he replied. "Here I am." [2]

"Take your son, your only son--yes, Isaac, whom you love so much--and go to the land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you." Genesis 22:2 -Translation NLT] However, the NLT Translation is rebutted by translation of the same [Genesis 22:2] by WEB.

Then God said, “He said, "Now take your son, your only son, whom you love, EVEN Isaac, and go into the land of Moriah. Offer him there for a burnt offering on one of the mountains which I will tell you of.” [3]

Genesis Contradicts itself: Abraham assured about the coming of Ishmael

“But Abram replied, "O Sovereign LORD, what good are all your blessings when I don't even have a son? Since you've given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth.[4] Then the LORD said to him, "No, your servant will not be your heir, for you will have a son of your own who will be your heir."[5] He took Abram outside and said, "Now look up at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them." He also said to him, "That's how many descendants you will have!" [6]

Genesis Contradicts itself: Birth of Ishmael, First son of Abraham

Now Sarai, Abram’s wife, had borne him no children. She had a female Egyptian servant whose name was Hagar.[7] so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.[8] And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar, the Egyptian, her maidservant, at the end of ten years that Abram had dwelt in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram, as his wife.[9] and he goeth in unto Hagar, and she conceiveth, and she seeth that she hath conceived, and her mistress is lightly esteemed in her eyes.[10] So Sarai complained to Abram, "I'm being treated unfairly! And it's your fault! I know that I gave my slave to you, but now that she's pregnant, she's being disrespectful to me. May the LORD decide who is right-you or me."[11] Abram replied, "Look, she is your servant, so deal with her as you see fit." Then Sarai treated Hagar so harshly that she finally ran away.[12] The angel of the LORD found Hagar beside a spring of water in the wilderness, along the road to Shur.[13] The angel said to her, "Hagar, Sarai's servant, where have you come from, and where are you going?" "I'm running away from my mistress, Sarai," she replied.”[14] The angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress and submit to her.”[15] The Messenger of the LORD also said to her, "I will give you many descendants. No one will be able to count them because there will be so many."[16] Then the Messenger of the LORD said to her, "You are pregnant, and you will give birth to a son. You will name him Ishmael [God Hears], because the LORD has heard your cry of distress.[17] And he will be a wild man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brothers.[18] Hagar named the LORD, who had been speaking to her, "You Are the God Who Watches Over Me." She said, "This is the place where I watched [the one] who watches over me."[19] And Hagar bore Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bore, Ishmael.[20] And Abram was eighty six years old, when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.[21] “Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in your hand; for I will make him a great nation.”[22]

Genesis Contradicts itself: Ishmael son of Abraham before the birth of Isaac

Then God said to Abraham, "Regarding Sarai, your wife--her name will no longer be Sarai. From now on her name will be Sarah.[23] And I will bless her and give you a son from her! Yes, I will bless her richly, and she will become the mother of many nations. Kings of nations will be among her descendants."[24] Then Abraham bowed down to the ground, but he laughed to himself in disbelief. "How could I become a father at the age of 100?" he thought. "And how can Sarah have a baby when she is ninety years old?"[25] So Abraham said to God, "May Ishmael live under your special blessing!"[26] Then God said, "Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.[27]

Genesis Contradicts itself: Forgets God’s Promise for Ishmael to Abraham

I have heard your request about Ishmael. Yes, I will bless him, make him fertile, and increase the number of his descendants. He will be the father of 12 princes, and I will make him a great nation. [28] “But I will also make a nation of the descendants of Hagar's son because he is your son, too."[29]

Genesis Contradicts itself: Ishmael’s Circumcision

But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year."[30] When God had finished speaking, he left Abraham.[31] “Then Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all the servants who were born in his house and all who were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's household, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the very same day, as God had said to him.[32] Abraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised,[33] And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.[34] Abraham and his son Ishmael were both circumcised on that same day.[35]

Genesis Contradicts itself: Abraham’s Burial

And Isaac and Ismael his sons buried him in the double cave, which was situated in the field of Ephron the son of Seor the Hethite, over against Mambre;[36] This was the field Abraham had purchased from the Hittites and where he had buried his wife Sarah.[37] These are the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred and thirty-seven years; and he breathed his last and died, and was gathered to his people.[38]

UNEQUIVOCAL Rebuttal from Deuteronomy
“Inheritance Rights of the Firstborn”

“If a man has two wives, the one loved and the other unloved, and both the loved and the unloved have borne him children, and if the firstborn son belongs to the unloved,[a]16then on the day when he assigns his possessions as an inheritance to his sons, he may not treat the son of the loved as the firstborn in preference to the son of the unloved, who is the firstborn, but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the unloved, by giving him a double portion of all that he has, for he is the first fruits of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.”[39]

Abraham in Egypt – Genesis

Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down to Egypt to live there for a while because the famine was severe. As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live. Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.”
When Abram came to Egypt, the Egyptians saw that she was a very beautiful woman. And when Pharaoh’s officials saw her, they praised her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into his palace. He treated Abram well for her sake, and Abram acquired sheep and cattle, male and female donkeys, menservants and maidservants, and camels.
But the LORD inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abram’s wife Sarai. So Pharaoh summoned Abram. “What have you done to me?” he said. “Why didn’t you tell me she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!” Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had.[40]

ALLAH’S Unequivocal Rebuttal to the UNBELIEVERS

[17:105 – Wahiduddin] “We have revealed the Quran with the truth, and with the truth it has come down.”

ALLAH, The Exalted, in His Book, The Quran has Mentioned Prophet Abraham 92 times [Hilali & Khan], 74 times [Asad], 69 times [Yusuf Ali], 65 times [Pickthall], 63 times [Shakir]

Merciful ALLAH has declared that, Abraham was inspired of ALLAH [Quran - 2:130; 6:63; 6:83; 29:16] and that HE (ALLAH), was Fully Cognizant of Prophet Abraham’s feelings [Quran - 21:51].

NOT A SINGLE REPRIMAND FOR ABRAHAM IS PRESENT IN THE QURAN

CONCLUSION: Abraham’s words are indeed, Inspired Words.

Those who remember ALLAH much, believe, Prophet Ishmael, was a Noble Prophet, worthy of Divine Honour and Praise and Merciful ALLAH has made his FORBEARANCE, an Example for mankind, till, Eternity.

For the Believers, ALLAH, The Exalted, Has Enjoined Celebration of Prophets Abraham and Ishmael’s Example of Self Surrender to ALLAH (May ALLAH'S Peace and Blessings Be with them). ALLAH, The Exalted has Blessed Prophet Abraham, the Father of all Muslims, with superlative Honour and Exultation. To claim otherwise is to cast aspersions on a Noble Prophet and cast doubts on ALLAH’S True words. Believers need to be aware of their duty to ALLAH, The Lord of the worlds, The Creator of us all.

In ALLAH, alone Do Believers Put their Trust

[Quran - 64:13 – Syed Vickar Ahamed] “Allah! There is no god but He: And in Allah (Alone), therefore, let the believers put their trust.”

Believers believe in ALLAH’S Words (Revelation) And they say: "We hear and we obey”

[Quran – 2:285 – Farook Malik] “The Messenger believes in the Guidance revealed to him from his Lord and so do the Believers. They all believe in Allah, His angels, His books and His Messengers. They say: "We do not discriminate against anyone of His Messengers." And they say: "We hear and we obey. Grant us Your forgiveness, O Lord; to You we shall all return."

It is the Ultimate CALUMNY that the Unbelievers, the Deaf, the Dumb, the Blind of Heart and the Vacuous of mind disbelieve ALLAH’S Words and claim ALLAH, The Exalted took someone lacking Moral Excellence, as a Friend.
